You've seen them on television or maybe in real life depending on where you live and what you have seen or maybe they've even saved your life or the life of a loved one; these are the people that wear scrubs while they make their living. It doesn't matter what type of scrubs they wear. They could be in the fanciest Barco metro scrubs or the cheap scrub sets that can be found on the internet or at some stores. It really doesn't matter what they look like, it only matters what they do.

Sure, there are other heroes in our society that include firemen and firewomen, policemen and women, pilots who fly the medical helicopters, search and rescue teams and so many more. This is about those who are the last ones on the list to help people. This is about those who have taken eight or more years of their life to study just to be or service to people when they need them the most. This is about the men and women who work endless hours to fix people when they're broken and need mending.

The doctors and nurses who are there when you need them may be very real heroes for many of us. If you are in a car accident, they are there waiting for you at the hospital to put you back together. We really are a fragile animal and they are the wonderful mechanics who can fix broken bones, sew us up and stop the bleeding, repair what can be fixed and let nature heal the rest. If you have a disease that won't be cured without intervention, they are there to help figure out what it is and what to do to help you heal and get rid of the disease. Not only do they have to know what the most common illnesses are and how to help cure them, they must stay abreast of all of the new diseases and malfunctions of the human body. They study constantly to keep up on the newest drugs, the latest technology and what it offers them as tools and how best to diagnose what may be going wrong. It's a never ending job.

At least they get to wear comfortable clothes while doing all this. You will find them in all sorts of colors and assortments of cotton scrubs and any number of cheap medical scrubs from pink to black and all sorts of crazy patterns. Their clothing is so comfortable that many people wear their clothing just because it is so easy and feels so good. You'll see people wearing scrubs all over the place and why not. Maybe it's a tribute to those who care for us or maybe it's just because they feel like a pair of pajamas and you can wear them out in public. Here's to the men and women who help us in comfortable clothing.
